Every field Steam publishes for ShredDead, for both platforms it ships on. Neither platform lists a recommended tier — only a minimum — which is unusual and worth understanding before you judge the specs. Official ShredDead screenshot: the outpost street, a low-load scene

Reading the specs

The minimum is genuinely low: a Core 2 Duo and any DX11 card. That is consistent with what the game looks like — an isometric street scene with a few dozen units, no ray tracing, no large open world. Storage at 1 GB tells you the same thing: one map, modest assets.

No recommended tier means Valve shows the minimum as the only guidance. In practice a machine at the minimum will run it; the question is whether it stays smooth when a horde stacks on screen. Players report frame drops tied to resolution changes rather than to load, which is a rendering bug rather than a hardware ceiling — covered on known issues.

Platform notes

  • Linux is not supported. The store lists Windows and macOS only, so Steam Deck runs it through Proton. The Steam Deck and Mac page covers what that means in practice.
  • Full controller support is listed, including DualShock and DualSense.
  • No Steam Cloud. Progress stays on the machine, which matters if you split play between two computers — see saves and progress.

Before you install

  1. Check your free space: 1 GB is small, but the game is not the only thing Steam will want.
  2. If you are on a laptop with switchable graphics, force the discrete GPU for the executable — a DX11 integrated chip will run it, but hordes are where you will notice.
  3. Set your resolution before you start a long run; changing it mid-run can darken the scene until you click something.
